Envoltz – Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer

Envoltz engineers and manufactures the most technically advanced heavy mobile equipment and battery powered solutions for a variety of industries. Our products integrate a combination of mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, battery power, and advanced control technologies to produce safe, efficient, and reliable machines. Our most well known machines are our diesel powered 40,000 lbs underground cable puller trailers, our battery-diesel hybrid wireline winches, and our 1 Megawatt battery powered hybrid frac assist units.

We're looking for talented hardware designers who are comfortable taking ownership of a project and having large responsibilities. We are a young and growing company that is developing ambitious hardware products. Naturally, there's quite a bit of mechanical work to be done. This does not mean we want someone who can come and work 80 hour work weeks — quite the opposite really. We want high-level performers who think creatively and are intentional about where they spend their effort. While a mechanical background is desired, we are looking for someone eager to learn and grow in all facets of design for fabrication.

The ideal candidate excels in finding ways to contribute to a team, but can also be trusted to independently handle deep thought work.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Robotics, or Electrical Engineering
Deep experience with any 3D CAD platform (Autodesk Inventor preferred but not required)
Hands on mechanical and electric hobbies/experience (automotive restoration or tinkering, wood working, 3D printing, RC drones/planes/cars/rocketry, Raspberry Pi, etc)
Deep understanding of multiple manufacturing methods and how to design for them (Welding, CNC Machining, CNC Laser/ Plasma Cutting, Press Brake Forming)
A solid understanding of core concepts, including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, machine design, etc.
Exceptional Microsoft Office skills
Strong problem-solving skills, entrepreneurial spirit, and ability to work in a team environment

Preferred Experience:

Familiarity with mobile hydraulics (pumps, valve banks, cartridge valves, cylinders, motors, coolers etc.)
Familiarity with FEA (Autodesk Nastran preferred but not required)
Familiarity with multi power domain systems

Responsibilities:

Performing a full lifecycle product development (design, develop, manufacture, test, quality control & customer support)
Support Envoltz Production Management by tracking manufacturing deviations, Engineering Change Orders, Bill of Material modifications, and 3D CAD model updates.
Designing parts, sub-systems, or entire products (depending on scope/size of product) in 3D CAD.
Collaborate and execute ideas for ways to improve products or manufacturing plans directly with fabrication technicians
Assemble and test prototype products and manufacturing plans using basic hand tools
Communicate with Envoltz Purchasing Department to procure components and raw materials
All other responsibilities as determined by Engineering Management

· Graphical Computer Programming (Danfoss PlusOne)

· CANBus Experience (J1939)

· EV Charging Standards and Protocol (J1772 & CCS)
