Position Title: Biochar Field Technician
Salary Range: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Responsibilities:
Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, test, run, repair and maintenance of Biomass Processing Units and associate equipment.
Responsibilities will include operation, maintenance, inventory, to keep a production site clean, safe and operating at its full potential. The technician will work with the engineering team to: continually improve overall performance with the Biomass Processing Unit and all associate equipment. Performance improvements will include improved MTBF, MTBUR, nuisance shutdowns or interruption and reduced maintenance time. The technician will also support Engineering on implementing design changes, improving product and process and creating unique biochar products (different feedstock, additives, etc.).
The technician will also provide order fulfillment of biochar orders – which includes packaging, shipping and/or coordinating ship logistics with freight companies.
Minimum Requirements:
o 3+ years minimum experience in applicable occupation.
o Knowledge of operation associate with farm equipment of heavy machinery – grinding, hauling, storing and moving feedstock
o Intimate working knowledge of the electro-mechanical machinery
o Knowledge machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
o Electrical troubleshooting including power, sensors, controllers, etc.
o Mechanical installation and trouble-shooting skills including motors, gear drive augers, piping, etc.
o Ability to lift 75 pounds regularly
o Possess valid driver’s license and be able to travel to rural areas to perform job tasks – CDL is a plus.
Experience & Skills:
o Operation of the production site:
§ Ability to handle Feedstock; stacking, storing, grinding and inventory of feedstock to include maintenance and repair of all associated equipment
§ Equipment operation, maintenance, and record keeping
§ Strong desire to maintain a clean and safe production site
§ Develop and ensure safety guidelines and requirement adherence
§ Ability to work with management to discuss safety related issues or incidents
§ Support development of Logistics data to include Operation and Maintenance manuals, maintenance logs, recommended spare parts, inventory and safety documents
§ Maintain maintenance and operation logs, production inventory, spare inventory
§ Assist in set-up, operation and maintenance on new sites
o Assist with trouble shooting failures and implementation of corrective action to improve site level reliability
o Support the company objectives to continually improve all aspects of the design, operation and maintenance of the overall site.
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Evening work may be required
