Full Job Description

Summary: Responsible for direct coordination with Operations Managers/Assistant Managers concerning all aspects of asphalt or concrete paving jobs or project progress.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. As noted below, other duties may be assigned.

· Productivity & qualifications of labor force.

· Labor needs including call offs.

· Equipment & material needs.

· Job housekeeping & safety.

· Job time, cost sheets, and all other job records.

· Company assets.

· Traffic control; Use the MUTCD as the guideline.

· Winter work: assist where needed.

· Maintaining the highest standard of confidentiality regarding Company information.

Other Duties

· Locating areas for Engineer field offices when necessary

· Locating borrow and dump sites for jobs when necessary

· Measuring of Commercial/Private work when necessary

· Help in QC/QA division as needed

· Running parts and job site materials from yard to job

· Assist with JULIE requests as needed

· Other Duties as assigned

Customer Service: Serves as a liaison to ensure utmost satisfaction in regards to quality and professional workmanship for all customers andresponds to customer requests in a timely manner.

Timeliness and Accuracy: Can be relied upon to meet deadlines related to invoicing and cost records with assistance from the Engineering Assistant.

Forward Thinking: Must remain proactive in regards to new ideas and technology that will ensure that the organization remains the top choice for heavy highway work within Southern Illinois.

Quality of Work: Demonstrates concern for the accuracy and quality of work, and takes step to correct mistakes and improve the overall product.

Health and Safety Body of Knowledge: Demonstrates technical skills and knowledge in the area of Health and Safety as it relates to overall operations.

Cost Awareness: Aware of the assigned budget for each task. Strives to keep costs within the budget, and makes manager aware when budget will be exceeded.

Managing Multiple Priorities: Handles multiple assignments and priorities, while fulfilling all commitments. Accepts new responsibilities and adapts to changes in procedures

Solving Problems: Takes a proactive approach to anticipating and preventing problems. When problems occur, define the problem, investigate obstacles, and analyze alternative solutions

Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate skills and knowledge of Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must possess a valid driver's license.

The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions including, but not limited to: heat, rain, sleet, and snow. The employee is occasionally exposed to electrical hazards.
