The Position:
Prevention Now is hiring its first Community & Government Relations Lead — a strategic partnership builder who will drive our expansion across the US. This is a foundational role that goes well beyond traditional business development: you will identify, cultivate, and deepen relationships with local nonprofits, multi-disciplinary coalitions, state and federal agencies who become partners in our work to prevent human trafficking across the US.
The right person for this role is driven by a vision to create long-term change in the world, finds joy in developing and managing with diverse relationships, can move between seamlessly strategy and enjoys working in a small, collaborative team.
Location: Remote, with core work hours, 9:00am – 3:00pm, in Pacific Time.
- Must live and be able to work in the United States.
Travel: This requires travel within the United States. Travel is estimated between 30-50% of domestic travel.
Responsibilities:
Partner Development and Expansion
- Identify, cultivate, and convert prospective partner organizations — including nonprofits, coalitions, task forces, and state and local agencies — into committed Prevention Now partners.
- Partner with leadership to develop then impelment a geographic expansion strategy in partnership with Program Leadership, using data and landscape analysis to prioritize communities where Prevention Now's analytics can have the greatest preventive impact
- Develop a tiered partner pipeline — organizing prospects by readiness, relationship depth, and strategic priority — so that a growing portfolio can be managed with both rigor and care.
- Serve as Prevention Now's primary relationship owner for prospective partners, guiding organizations from initial interest through transition to a full project partner.
- Support the CEO in broader stakeholder engagement as needed, to include donor relationship and thought leadership.
Government and Coalition Engagement
- Build relationships with policymakers and government stakeholders to position Prevention Now's analytics as a trusted tool and insights for systemic prevention and policy efforts.
- Engage strategically with national networks, multi-disciplinary coalitions, anti-trafficking task forces, and national networks to raise Prevention Now's profile and open multiple partnership pathways simultaneously.
Strategy and Systems
- Own the development and ongoing management of systems and processes that support the full partnership pipeline — from identification and outreach through cultivation, conversion, and long-term stewardship
- Maintain a clear and current view of pipeline health, using CRM or equivalent tools to track relationships, prioritize activity, and surface insights for leadership
- Build a feedback loop with Program Leadership to ensure expansion efforts are paced with delivery capacity and grounded in what partners actually need.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; field of study open
- 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following: government or public affairs, business development or sales, donor relations or fundraising, or direct service in social services, public health, or a related field
- Experience developing and owning a partnership, business development, or growth strategy —including deciding where to focus, how to prioritize, and how to build toward long-term goals.
- A proven track record of building and stewarding relationships across diverse sectors; you come with an established network and know how to grow it - experience working with nonprofits, coalitions, task forces, or government agencies is a strong plus
- Experience navigating government or policy environments at the local, state, or federal level, with the ability to engage policymakers and agency stakeholders with credibility and clarity
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data, technology, or analytical tools into compelling narratives for varied audiences — you can speak fluently to both the human story and the data behind it, whether your background is in tech, a data-driven field, or mission-driven work
- Proven ability to manage a robust and active portfolio of relationships simultaneously, moving partners from initial interest through long-term commitment with attention, care, and follow-through
- Comfort with data-informed prioritization — using landscape analysis, market signals, or pipeline data to make strategic decisions about where to focus energy and resources
- Experience developing systems and processes to support partnership pipelines, with comfort using CRM or equivalent tools to manage and track activity
- Experience working in startup or entrepreneurial environments where you are building as you go, leading with initiative, and contributing to a small, collaborative team, a plus
- Familiarity or prior experience working in the anti-trafficking, gender-based violence, public health, or other adjacent social impact spaces — is a meaningful plus

Salary + Benefits:
- $70,000-$85,000, Placement within this salary band will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and demonstrated qualifications for the role. The upper end of the band is typically reserved to allow room for growth, so employees can progress and advance in the role over time
