Description

The Department of Public Works is an accredited agency by the American Public Works Association. Public Works is responsible for street design, construction, and maintenance. Public Works constructs and maintains the infrastructure of the City to satisfy community needs by providing engineering services, a safe transportation system, effective stormwater management, and public buildings and grounds.

As a Traffic Controls Worker II, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing traffic control signs and/or pavement markings as part of the Street Operations Division.

Qualifications and Requirements

Traffic Controls Worker II
Experience, Education, and Training

Two years of experience in the operation and maintenance procedures necessary for installation of traffic control signs and/or markings.

Licensing/Certification

Must possess at minimum the written portion of the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) exam (permit). The skills testing portion of the Class B CDL with airbrakes must be obtained within the probationary period.
Must obtain International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) certification in Signs and Markings and a Work Zone Safety Certification from IMSA or the American Traffic Safety Association (ATSSA) within the probationary period.
