Are you a strong sales performer with an eye for interior design?
China Towne Furniture & Mattress, a family-owned home furnishings destination for over 50 years, is looking for a Sales & Interior Design focused individual to elevate our showroom experience, grow sales, and join our talented team of design consultants.
This unique role blends sales expertise, interior design creativity, and passion for customer service. You'll work in sales on our showroom floor selling whole-home furniture & mattresses, optional in-home design consultations, track personal key sales metrics, work as a team player, and help set the tone for an engaging, customer-first environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Engage with customers as a Sales Design Consultant to exceed sales goals and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Own sales performance metrics: track KPIs, productivity, conversion rates, and average ticket size.
- Create interior design projects, from in-store consultation to in-home appointments and layout planning.
- Consistently develop your skills through daily floor presence, training, and constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with team members and vendors on interior design continuing education and training, as well as sales skills and goals.
- Provide creative design and in-home solutions to customers over the phone, online, in store and in home to complete the sales design process.
- Champion the customer journey: deliver warm, solution-based experiences that help turn "dreams into beautiful rooms" from the initial meet and greet, China Towne selling system, invoice entry, payment details, order tracking and follow up.
What You Bring:
- Proven track record in sales (1+ years preferred, furniture/home décor sales a plus)
- Strong interior design sense or creative arts such as photography or architecture
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret floor plans, space plan, and create custom orders
- Comfort working weekends and retail hours
- Highly organized with a detail-focused mindset
- Tech-savvy enough to work with CRM/sales tracking and point-of-sale tools
