Full Job Description

Department: Supply Chain

Payroll Type: Hourly

Reports To: Supply Chain Manager

FLSA Status: Non -Exempt

Job Summary

The Purchasing Clerk will support the business and purchasing department activities by ordering supplies and raw materials. This position report directly to the purchasing Manager

Duties/Responsibilities

Prepare purchase orders
Keep track of purchases and supplies, and handle inquiries about orders
Monitor inventory, perform buying duties when necessary, and contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries.
Track the status of requisitions, contracts and orders, and calculate relevant costs
Researches vendors and collects prices, specifications, and other data related to goods and services.
Establishes and maintains recordkeeping system for purchasing department.
Provides administrative and clerical support to the department.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

Effective organizational and detailed oriented skills
Experience providing effective customer service
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to learn purchasing procedures and policies.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Educational Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least two years of clerical experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
