Now Hiring:
The Jr. Buyer is responsible for supporting procurement and supply chain operations by ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing, planning, and replenishment of ingredients and materials. This role requires a proactive approach to long-term supply planning and contingency management while balancing daily operational needs. The Jr. Buyer collaborates closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to manage inventory, forecasting, supplier performance, purchasing activities, cost savings initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.

Must be able to work in a cold and wet environment (34 degrees).

Pay Range: $60k - $65k per year

Shift: Inquire about shift availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain supply plans using forecasts, multi-level bills of materials (BOMs), and product formulas.
Manage inventory replenishment, purchasing activities, and purchase order creation.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply issues through collaboration, alternate sourcing, and contingency planning.
Source, qualify, and procure ingredients while supporting new product launches and returning products.
Assist with supplier negotiations for pricing, delivery, transportation, and contract terms.
Develop and execute cost savings initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Monitor inventory levels, analyze supply chain data, and generate ERP reports.
Coordinate with Production, R&D, Quality, Transportation, Accounting, and Commercial teams to support business objectives.
Participate in supplier meetings, business reviews, and long-range planning sessions.
Ensure compliance with inventory control, replenishment processes, and company purchasing procedures.
Represent the department as needed and perform additional duties assigned.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field, or equivalent food industry/CPG experience.
1–3 years of purchasing, supply planning, demand planning, or related experience; food manufacturing experience preferred.
Strong understanding of supply planning concepts, including BOMs, lead times, safety stock, forecasting, and inventory management.
Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
Knowledge of food ingredients, commodities, and supplier management preferred.
Strong analytical, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with RFQs/RFPs and commodity purchasing is a plus.
Intermediate math skills and strong attention to detail.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays based on business needs.
