Investment Operations Specialist
Summary: Akers Financial Group is a financial planning firm specializing in investment management, brokerage and insurance products. The company is seeking a highly energized and confident individual who will thrive in a busy environment to serve as a Investment OperationsSpecialist. Candidate must be extremely professional in appearance and manner, willing to accept direction, quick to learn new things, and computer savvy.Superior phone and computer skills required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Additional duties may be assigned):
- Prepare account service paperwork for advisor meetings
- Correspond with clients to complete new accounts, asset transfers, and other requests
- Processing and tracking account service requests; establishing new accounts, account transfers, processing name and address changes, bank authorizations, beneficiary updates
- Meeting with clients to review and sign account service documents
- Servicing client requests via telephone, email and face to face
- Research and resolve client service problems as needed
- Interact with financial companies via telephone and email
- Update and track requests with Client Relationship Management software
- Ensure office procedures are followed
- Record all transactions on appropriate logs
- Perform general administration and support functions as required
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
- Work closely with advisors and planners to implement client specific goals
The Ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Background and experience in the financial services industry; knowledge of key financial management concepts, 5 year minimum, required
- Ability to communicate with co-workers, customers and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to investigate, research and resolve problems or concerns
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to make rule-based and analytical decisions
- Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Ability to pay close attention to detail, work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to take complete and accurate notes
- Ability to operate various office equipment including personal computer, copier, etc.
- Ability to learn in-house financial industry specific software and tools
- Skill in utilizing various software packages such as Microsoft Office & Outlook
- Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
- Dedicated to developing a career in the financial services industry with the potential for advancement within the company
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, etc. Ability to draft effective business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Compensation Package: $40,000 – $50,000 per year commensurate with experience
