Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas Board is seeking passionate and dedicated professionals to join our team.

The Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas Board is hiring 2–3 Pathway Initiatives Specialists. These are full-time, regular positions with an annual salary of $45,000–$51,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

Pathway Initiatives Specialists coordinate work-based learning opportunities and support the development of career pathways across the West Central Texas region. This position works closely with employers, school districts, higher education institutions, and community partners to expand career-connected learning opportunities, strengthen regional workforce initiatives, and prepare students for high-demand careers.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred. Comparable and relevant experience may substitute year-for-year for a four-year degree. A minimum of three years of experience in education, workforce development, program coordination, partnership development, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should possess strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills and be willing to travel throughout the region.

Job Description

OCCUPATIONAL CATEGORY: Administrative, Non-Exempt

JOB TITLE: Pathway Initiatives Specialist

OBJECTIVE: The Pathway Initiatives Specialist coordinates work-based learning

experiences while supporting the development of career pathways across the West Central Texas

region. Under general supervision, the specialist conducts outreach to employers, coordinates with

districts and students, and collaborates with other cross-sector partners to implement work-based

learning activities and build a regional talent pipeline through high-quality career and education

pathways.

REPORTS TO: Director of Pathway Initiatives

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

This is a responsible position requiring sound judgment and the ability to work independently while

collaborating closely with internal and external partners. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Coordinate work-based learning experiences with industry partners, educators, and students.
Support the development and alignment of high-quality career and education pathways that

address regional workforce needs.

Coordinate and maintain partnerships among education, workforce, industry, and community

stakeholders to support workforce initiatives and career-connected learning.

Work closely with regional education service centers, partner school districts, employers, and

postsecondary institutions to implement workforce and education initiatives.

Serve as the primary point of contact for students, educators, and employers participating in

assigned programs and initiatives.

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, workshops, presentations, and other engagement

activities with education, workforce, and industry partners.

Support the implementation and coordination of assigned grants, programs, and regional

initiatives.

Collect and maintain program data to support grant reporting, presentations, performance

tracking, and continuous improvement.

Promote Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas programs, services, and initiatives

throughout the region.

Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent interpersonal skills with the initiative to outreach internal and external

stakeholders by phone calls, emails, and in-person site visits. Professional communication skills

are required.

Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and prioritize tasks appropriately.
Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office products and willingness to become

proficient in CRM software.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred. Comparable

experience may substitute year-for-year with a four-year degree.

Minimum of three years of experience in education, workforce development, or a related field

rogram coordination or partnership development.

POSITION DETAILS:

Valid Texas motor vehicle operator license or available alternate means of transportation.
