Security Officer

Location: Abilene, TX
Pay Rate: $18.08 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Work Authorization Requirement: Must be a United States Citizen

Position Overview

We are seeking professional, dependable, and customer-focused Security Officers to support operations at a large data center campus in Abilene, Texas. Security Officers play a critical role in safeguarding personnel, property, and assets while maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.

The ideal candidate demonstrates integrity, vigilance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to consistently enforce security procedures in a professional manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Control access to the site by verifying credentials and authorizations.
Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to ensure compliance with security protocols.
Conduct foot and vehicle patrols throughout buildings, parking lots, construction zones, and surrounding property.
Observe and report suspicious activities, safety hazards, and policy violations.
Respond to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and unusual situations.
Prepare accurate and detailed incident, activity, and shift reports.
Communicate effectively with site personnel, supervisors, Security Operations Center (SOC), and emergency responders.
Provide professional customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and vendors.
Enforce established security policies and procedures consistently and professionally.
Support emergency response, evacuation, and incident management procedures.
Adapt to changing post assignments and operational requirements.

Required Qualifications

Must be a U.S. Citizen.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to obtain and maintain any required state security licensing.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent observation and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic computer proficiency for report writing and access control systems.
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Physical Requirements

Stand for extended periods during the shift.
Walk approximately 2-5 miles per shift.
Ability to climb stairs and navigate a large campus environment.
Maintain alertness and attention to detail throughout the entire shift.
Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when assigned to construction areas.
Lift and carry items as needed consistent with job requirements.

Work Environment

Security Officers may work in a combination of:

Operational data center facilities.
Active construction environments.
Indoor and outdoor locations.

Employees should be prepared for:

Exposure to extreme Texas weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
Construction noise, dust, uneven walking surfaces, and moving equipment.
Frequent interaction with employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
Shift assignments that may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
A 24/7 operational environment requiring flexibility and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior security, military, law enforcement, corrections, or customer service experience.
Experience working in data center, critical infrastructure, industrial, or construction environments.
CPR, First Aid, or emergency response certifications.
