Full Job Description

Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, takes pride in accuracy, and understands the importance of organization and confidentiality.

As an Accounting Clerk, you will play an important role in our day-to-day financial operations while working in a professional, compassionate, family-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, record, and process payments from families and other parties
Create and issue invoices and statements to families
Accurately apply payments to appropriate accounts
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records
Assist with accounts receivable and follow-up on outstanding balances
Process checks, credit card payments, and other forms of payment
Maintain accurate documentation of financial transactions
Assist with account reconciliation and general bookkeeping tasks
Communicate professionally and compassionately with families regarding invoices, payments, and account questions
Work closely with management and administrative staff to resolve billing discrepancies
Assist with additional accounting and administrative responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

Experience with QuickBooks Online required
Previous accounting, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, or accounting clerk experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Comfortable working with numbers and financial information
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial and family information appropriately
Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently while also being part of a team

Schedule

Full-Time
Monday–Friday
8:30 AM–5:00 PM
