JOB DESCRIPTION
The Quality Engineer will work alongside both business and technical team members to ensure the usability and functionality of products, services and systems. This role will contribute to the overall organization by working to deliver quality standards using the team's testing systems to ensure efficiency, reliability and performance. Your work will also contribute to the organization's overall strategic plan to maintain and improve production quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews requirements and specifications and provides feedback

Creates detailed and well-structured test plans and test cases

Prioritizes, plans and coordinates testing activities

Creates and executes test cases and/or automation scripts

Identifies and documents defects thoroughly

Performs thorough regression testing

Installs, configures and maintains testing programs

Applies test standards and testing processes (i.e. SDLC, Agile)

Investigates and documents the causes of routine defects

Tracks quality assurance metrics like defect totals, type and frequency and creates test summary reports
QUALIFICATIONS
-
2+ years of experience w/Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field

Knowledge of QA principles, concepts, systems, industry practices, and standards

Experience in software quality assurance techniques

Experience in software test automation (functional and/or performance), with advanced scripting expertise

Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or equivalent)

Experience testing APIs and services using tools such as Postman, SoapUI

Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration with automated testing (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)

Experience working with version control systems such as Git and Github

Knowledge of SQL and ability to validate data across databases

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and participation in sprint ceremonies

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong time management and organizational skills
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 20. $71,400 - $149,500
