Full Job Description

Summary of Qualifications

Experienced in the principles of SBA and/or conventional commercial lending, including the review of credit approval memoranda and loan commitment letters, understanding of various loan requirements and financial covenants, preparation of loan closing checklists and loan documentation, preparation of settlement statements and handling of loan funding, understanding of title insurance and surveys and preparation of closing instructions to a title company, and understand the perfection of collateral interests in real estate at the county level and personal property at the Secretary of State level. Familiarity with SBA-specific financing is preferred but not required. Tile company/escrow experience is also a plus.

Specific Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to: interfacing directly with client lending officers and loan closers, title companies, and other third-party service providers who facilitate loan closings. The ability to have extensive independent communication with these parties is essential. Review credit approval memorandum and prepare due diligence checklists. Review organizational documents for a variety of different entity types and conclude who has the authority to execute documents on behalf of such entities. Draft documentation to properly describe and secure a particular lending transaction and assist in the closing of complex commercial lending transactions. Must be able to manage and take ownership of assigned workload. Supervise, educate and direct personnel in the department who would be involved in the same transactions to gather information from lenders and borrowers required to open files, draft loan documents, and complete the transaction.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Strong professional work ethic and team player are essential as is the ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs and deadlines. Will need to have a positive attitude, self-motivated, and the ability to take direction from and work in tandem with many individuals at all levels of the department and possess excellent organizational, written, computer and verbal skills, maintain efficiency, attention to detail, and multitask in a fast paced, time sensitive, high-volume environment. Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and advanced experience with drafting loan documents, word processing, and proofreading is required.
