About the Role
As a Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech), you'll work directly with patients and physicians to perform diagnostic imaging procedures that are essential for accurate diagnoses and treatment planning. You'll operate sophisticated imaging equipment, ensure image quality, and maintain patient safety throughout the imaging process.
Success in this role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a patient-focused approach. You'll be responsible for positioning patients, following imaging protocols, and producing diagnostic images while ensuring a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiology and X-ray imaging procedures
- Operate advanced imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Position patients correctly to ensure optimal imaging results
- Review imaging orders and verify patient information
- Follow departmental imaging protocols and safety standards
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to support accurate diagnoses
- Monitor image quality and make adjustments as needed
- Educate and guide patients through imaging procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Follow radiation safety, infection prevention, and patient safety protocols
- Assist with equipment maintenance and quality assurance initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Radiologic Technologist license, certification, or accreditation as required by state and facility
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent Radiology Technologist experience
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and equipment operation
- Ability to deliver exceptional patient care in fast-paced healthcare environments
- Willingness to travel and adapt to new clinical settings
- Additional certifications may be required by individual facilities
