About Us

We are a bustling, independent casual bistro located in the beautiful, scenic rural landscape of Stable View in Aiken, South Carolina. Our kitchen is an open-air, guest-facing stage where we turn fresh ingredients into exceptional meals. We pride ourselves on a welcoming atmosphere, pristine cleanliness, and a tight-knit, hard-working team. We are a drug free work place with random testing.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly dependable, hands-on Executive Chef to fully own and manage our culinary operations at The Bistro at Stable View. Because our kitchen is completely open-air and visible to our guests, you must maintain impeccable sanitation standards and present a professional demeanor at all times. You will work with a high degree of independence, managing everything from back-of-house logistics to daily service. This position does not require nightly hours every week, only when special events are booked. You will also be able to create, with the owners, team members, and a consultant, the opportunity to create a new and exciting weekly and events menus. We are a team-first environment; you must be a leader who is willing to roll up your sleeves and help with cleanup whenever necessary.

Core Responsibilities

Kitchen Ownership: Work independently to manage daily prep, inventory, and line cooking in an open-air kitchen visible to guests.
Sanitation Excellence: Maintain highest-level sanitation standards and strictly follow all health department and internal kitchen protocols.
Culinary Math: Apply knowledge of food yields, recipe conversions, and inventory math to minimize waste and protect food costs.
Team Player Mentality: Lead by example with zero ego, actively helping with kitchen cleanup, dishwashing, and closing duties.
Fresh Execution: Source, prep, and execute a high-quality menu built around fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Requirements & Qualifications

Certification: Active Serv Safe Manager Certification is strictly required. Can also be obtained within 10 days of hiring.
Experience: Culinary degree is preferred, but substantial years of proven kitchen management experience will be gladly substituted.
Dependability: Absolute reliability, a strong work ethic, and open availability to work weekends.
Logistics: Reliable transportation is a must, as our beautiful job site is in a rural location outside of central Aiken.
Background: Must provide professional references. Past employers will be thoroughly contacted and checked.
