Job Title: Technology Support Specialist (Desktop Support)

Location: Gwinnett County, GA (On-site)

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technology Support Specialist to provide on-site technical support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, networking, and classroom technology in a K-12 school environment. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, and hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments, Active Directory, LAN/WAN networks, and audio/visual equipment.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
Valid Georgia Driver's License.
Minimum 5 years of experience supporting desktop/laptop hardware, Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, and LAN/WAN environments.
In lieu of 5 years of experience:
Bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of related experience, or
2 years of experience with CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications.

Key Responsibilities

Provide Level 1 on-site technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and classroom technology.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and network connectivity issues.
Support Microsoft Windows environments and Active Directory user administration.
Install, configure, maintain, and repair computers and related equipment.
Respond to and resolve incidents using the district's ticketing system.
Escalate complex issues to Level 2 support or vendors when necessary.
Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, repairs, and resolutions.
Support technology deployments, upgrades, and inventory management.
Configure and maintain classroom audio/visual equipment.
Prepare and support computers, laptops, Chromebooks, printers, and scanners for online testing.
Set up temporary testing labs and restore equipment after testing.
Provide technical assistance and basic technology training to teachers and staff.
Collaborate with school administrators and technology teams on technology initiatives and projects.
Participate in district technology projects, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
