Full Job Description

Job Summary: Klutch Cannabis is looking for Lab Technician to support our extraction and production operations in Akron, Ohio. The ideal candidate should be very technically astute in mechanical, electrical, and computer operated systems utilized in production/manufacturing environments. The candidate needs to be proactive, quick thinking, and innovative in your approach.

Essential Functions

Preparation of equipment and plant materials for extraction
Execution of extraction and processing in accordance with state and local standards
Operation of sophisticated extraction equipment
Ensure consistency and efficiency of product through quality control testing and procedures
Cleaning and maintenance of extraction equipment and manufacturing facility
Maintaining strict inventory records of all plant materials, chemicals, and equipment used in the facility
Oversee day-to-day Hydrocarbon operations of the entire extraction space beginning with storing the raw cannabis through the extraction process and all the way to fulfillment of orders
Operating, maintaining, adjusting and repairing extraction equipment
Storing supplies and equipment and disposal of waste according to guidelines
Complete the cleaning and sanitization of all production equipment, work surfaces, and tools
Maintaining inventory records of supplies, materials, and equipment and preparing requisitions as needed
Following all standard operating procedures regarding product creation and lab safety
Assist in packaging and labeling of finished products
Works with testing laboratory as defined by state guidelines
Be a team player, take responsibility and ownership of your duties, and work with multiple people in multiple departments to get the job done. We are looking for a cool head who is solution driven.
Any other tasks that may be assigned.

Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate degree required.
METRC experience preferred
Relevant extraction experience preferred
Experienced in using standard computer programs and able to learn new software within a relatively brief time period.
Good on email and organization of shared files (Drop Box, Office 365, Google Drive, OneDrive)
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out moderately complex, multi-step instructions and make appropriate independent decisions as necessary.
Ability to work swiftly and productively, both independently and in a team environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Working Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and processing facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, as well as sophisticated extraction equipment.

Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to use hands to type, handle, feel
The employee is frequently required to walk, talk and hear
The employee is occasionally required to sit and type
The employee is frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or reach for 8+ hours each shift
The employee is frequently required to safely climb and descend a ladder
The employee is required to safely lift and/or move up to 50lbs on a frequent basis
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Stipulation of employment is passing an OHIO BCI and FBI background check in accordance with ORC/OAC 3796.

Employees are not allowed to work on the premises until the badge is activated in the Ohio Department of Medical Marijuana e-Licensing portal.
