Gatehouse Estate Management & Renovation is seeking a detail-oriented Licensed Home Inspector to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in evaluating residential properties, supporting renovation planning, and ensuring homes meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and craftsmanship.
As a Licensed Home Inspector, you will perform comprehensive residential inspections for prospective homebuyers, homeowners, and renovation projects. Working alongside our estate management, renovation, and project management teams, you'll provide accurate assessments that help clients make informed decisions while supporting Gatehouse's commitment to exceptional service and quality.
Compensation

Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive residential home inspections in accordance with state licensing requirements and industry standards.
- Evaluate structural systems, roofing, foundations, exterior components, interiors, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC systems, insulation, ventilation, and other major building components.
- Identify safety concerns, maintenance issues, and potential defects affecting the condition of residential properties.
- Prepare detailed, accurate, and professional inspection reports with photographs and recommendations.
- Interpret architectural drawings, renovation plans, and construction documents as needed.
- Assess existing conditions prior to renovation and remodeling projects.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Estimators, and Renovation Specialists to identify project scope and existing conditions.
- Communicate inspection findings clearly and professionally with homeowners, clients, real estate professionals, contractors, and internal team members.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation using inspection software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Stay current with applicable residential building codes, inspection standards, and industry best practices.
- Represent Gatehouse Estate Management & Renovation with professionalism, integrity, and exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
- Current Ohio Licensed Home Inspector certification required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of residential home inspection or residential construction experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, building systems, and applicable building codes.
- Experience evaluating foundations, framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building envelopes.
- Ability to read and interpret residential architectural plans and construction documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic inspection reporting software.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team approach.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to inspect homes in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders.
- Ability to access attics, basements, crawl spaces, and roofs safely.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to travel throughout Northeast Ohio to perform inspections.
