Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all clinical operations within the recovery facility. This role ensures high-quality patient care, proper clinical documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards. The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership, supervision, and support to all clinicians, while maintaining accountability for the overall clinical integrity of the program.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Oversight & Leadership

Supervise and manage all clinical staff, including therapists, counselors, and case managers
Provide regular individual and group supervision to clinicians in accordance with licensing and regulatory requirements
Ensure delivery of evidence-based, ethical, and high-quality clinical services
Act as the primary clinical authority within the facility
Demonstrates a hands-on, team-first approach willing to step in at any level of care (including completing assessments or supporting front-line tasks) to ensure client needs are met and operations run smoothly.
Brings strong experience in documentation review and quality oversight, along with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop clinical staff with varying levels of experience.

Documentation & Compliance

Oversee all clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission)
Review and approve treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other clinical records
Train staff on documentation standards and conduct audits to maintain compliance

Program Management

Ensure proper implementation of clinical programming, including group and individual therapy services
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment approaches as needed
Collaborate with medical, administrative, and operations teams to ensure integrated care

Staff Development & Training

Mentor and support clinicians in professional development
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback
Facilitate trainings on clinical best practices, documentation, and compliance standards

Quality Assurance & Improvement

Implement and monitor quality assurance processes
Identify areas for clinical improvement and develop action plans
Maintain readiness for audits, inspections, and accreditation reviews

Administrative & Operational Support

Assist in developing policies and procedures related to clinical services
Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning
Ensure proper staffing coverage for clinical services

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
Active clinical license (LISW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) in Ohio
Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience in substance use disorder or behavioral health settings
Prior supervisory or leadership experience required

Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and team management skills
In-depth knowledge of clinical documentation standards and compliance requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong ethical judgment and decision-making abilities

Work Environment

Fast-paced recovery treatment setting
May require occasional evening or weekend availability

Pay: $70,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
