DEW Beauty Company is growing, and we are looking for one exceptional cosmetologist to join our team as an Associate Stylist.
DEW is Huntsville’s destination where luxury head spa experiences meet expert natural hair and scalp care. We have created a space where women with natural hair can be deeply pampered, fully relax, and still receive the specialized professional care their hair and scalp deserve.
This is more than an open chair.
We are looking for a beauty professional who wants to be trained, developed, build a clientele, expand their skills, and grow into a long-term career with a growing beauty company.
No existing clientele is required. DEW provides clients, marketing support, back-bar products, service supplies, equipment, systems, and training.
The Opportunity
The Associate Stylist begins with paid training and certification in the DEW Head Spa Experience.
During the initial development period, you will primarily serve Head Spa clients on Saturdays and Sundays while learning DEW’s service standards, natural hair and scalp-care approach, products, systems, sanitation requirements, and luxury client experience.
Following successful certification and demonstrated performance, you may begin training and certification in additional DEW services, including scalp care, silk presses, and natural-hair styling, with the goal of transitioning into weekday and eventually full-time appointment availability.
This position is designed as a pathway toward a full-time Associate Stylist career. The initial schedule begins with training and weekend services. Expansion into weekday and full-time hours is based on successful certification, performance, reliability, client demand, and business needs and is not guaranteed by a specific date.
Compensation
Regular service compensation: 40% commission on collected service revenue.
Associates also receive 100% of client gratuities.
At DEW’s current $195 Head Spa service price, 40% commission equals:
$78 per completed service
A fully booked day of four $195 Head Spa appointments would equal $312 in service commission, plus 100% of client tips.
The $78–$312 daily range reflects approximately 1–4 completed $195 services and is not guaranteed daily compensation. Actual commission earnings depend on completed appointments and collected service revenue.
Required training, orientation, shadowing, certification, meetings, and other designated training time are compensated separately at $15 per hour.
DEW provides the products, supplies, equipment, marketing, and appointment opportunities necessary to perform the role.
What You’ll Do
As a DEW Associate Stylist, you will:
- Deliver the DEW Head Spa Experience according to established service protocols
- Provide shampoo, scalp-care, treatment, and relaxation services
- Work confidently and respectfully with textured and natural hair
- Conduct thorough client consultations and scalp observations within your professional scope
- Educate clients on appropriate natural hair and scalp-care practices
- Learn and properly use DEW products, tools, and equipment
- Maintain exceptional sanitation, cleanliness, organization, and station presentation
- Document client services, observations, and recommendations
- Create a warm, polished, professional, luxury guest experience
- Follow company standards for attendance, client care, communication, and service execution
- Participate in ongoing coaching, education, training, and professional development
- Progress toward certification in additional natural-hair and styling services as eligible

Required Qualifications
- Active Alabama cosmetology license in good standing by the employment start date
- Consistent Saturday and Sunday availability during the initial operating period
- Selected weekday availability for paid training, shadowing, and certification
- Ability to report reliably to our Huntsville salon
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Willingness to complete DEW’s training and internal Head Spa certification process
- Willingness to work as a W-2 employee
- Willingness to follow DEW service, sanitation, attendance, hospitality, and client-care standards
Recent cosmetology graduates and early-career professionals are encouraged to apply.
Experience with textured hair, natural hair, shampoo services, silk presses, scalp care, Head Spa services, or luxury guest service is preferred but not required. Character, coachability, reliability, professionalism, and foundational ability are equally important.
Training & Career Path
DEW provides a structured development pathway:
Stage 1 — Paid Training & Certification
Orientation, product education, DEW Head Spa training, shadowing with Dominque Willis, supervised services, and certification.
Stage 2 — Head Spa Associate
Begin serving Saturday and Sunday Head Spa clients with a controlled schedule and ramp toward four appointments per day.
Stage 3 — Performance & Development
Demonstrate consistency in service execution, hospitality, sanitation, reliability, timing, and client experience.
Stage 4 — Additional Certifications
Eligible associates may begin training in additional services such as scalp care, silk presses, and natural-hair styling.
Stage 5 — Full Associate Stylist
Expand into weekday appointments and work toward a full-time client schedule based on certification, performance, client demand, and business needs.
