Full Job Description

Job Summary

Mesa Verde Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Accounting Department in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

This is a full-time position supporting accounts payable for multiple companies in a fast-paced construction and business environment. We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, accurate, and comfortable working independently while managing recurring deadlines and a high volume of transactions.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities include:

Process and code vendor and subcontractor invoices for multiple companies.
Match purchase orders and support documentation to invoices.
Code expenses to the appropriate company, job, cost code, equipment, and general ledger accounts.
Prepare vendor check runs and process ACH/EFT payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and research invoice or payment discrepancies.
Maintain vendor accounts, W-9 documentation, credit applications, and NTTC records.
Assist with annual 1099 processing and vendor tax reporting.
Maintain required lien releases and payment documentation.
Process and reconcile company credit-card activity.
Assist with materials spreadsheets, reporting, audits, tax support, and other Accounting Department functions.
Crosstrain in other accounting positions and provide backup assistance as needed.

What We're Looking For

Previous accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting experience preferred.
Construction accounting or job-cost experience is a plus.
Trimble Vista or similar accounting/ERP experience is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong Excel and general computer skills.
Professional communication and problem-solving skills.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting pay: $17.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Applicants with strong construction AP experience, high-volume invoice processing experience, Trimble Vista experience, or 1099 knowledge may receive higher consideration within the range.
