Full Job Description

Bratslavsky Consulting Engineers, Inc., an engineering & construction management company is currently looking to hire a full-time Construction Inspector (CI) to provide construction inspection services in Sitka, Alaska. The Construction Inspector will be responsible for the following:

Perform detailed inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with contract drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Monitor workmanship across multiple disciplines, including structural, architectural, and civil construction.
Review project documentation, drawings, and technical specifications to assess compliance.
Document inspection findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with project stakeholders including contractors, quality control personnel, and government representatives.
Support oversight of project delivery methods such as design-bid-build and design-build.

Place of Performance: Sitka, Alaska

Salary: $104,000.00 - $156,000.00 per year

Schedule: 8-hour day shift Monday to Friday

Minimum Experience/Technical Requirements for Construction Inspectors:

High School Level Education
Minimum 10 years of construction experience on similar projects (e.g., building construction, marine/waterfront projects)
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of building and construction trades, including inspection and/or installation experience
Proven ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
Experience with design-build, or design-bid-build contracts.
Experience as a construction superintendent, providing both supervision and QA/QC duties.
Experience with facility and building systems (building envelope, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural, etc.) as well as managing all building trades, subcontracts and construction safety.
Demonstrated hands-on experience in inspecting facilities and construction for compliance with contract requirements.
Physically, workers must be able to; climb and maintain body balance; use hands and arms fully; stand, kneel, bend, crawl, or crouch for long periods; and see well (either naturally or with correction).

Federal Project Experience:

At least 2 years of experience on Federal construction projects in roles such as:
Construction Inspector
Contractor Superintendent
Quality Control Manager

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working on Coast Guard design-build construction projects, Federal design-build projects in Alaska, and/or Background in marine or waterfront construction projects.
