Full Job Description

Job Announcement: High School High Tech Outreach and Program Development Coordinator - Albany Area

Do you have a passion for working with youth (high school freshmen to seniors) to assist them in finding their path to successful careers?

You can be a part of creating opportunities for high school students to successfully transition from high school to post-secondary education and the workforce, and at the same time experience the personal benefits of working remotely including saving daily commute time and money.

Under the direction of the High School High Tech Program Manager, the Outreach and Program Development Coordinator adheres to standards and regulations and internal policies and systems, as outlined by the Georgia Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities, Inc.

Internal training will be provided on subject matter to work with active high schools, teachers, students, and employers, so you can be confident in providing the highest level of service possible. And we trust you already have the necessary abilities that can’t be taught – the ability to create great relationships.

Area Served: Albany, Bainbridge, Thomasville, Moultrie

What you’ll be doing:

Contact new school systems to schedule presentations on the High School High Tech program
Expand and maintain school participation in the HSHT designated area
Develop relationships with transition coordinators, resource teachers, guidance counselors, CTI coordinators, for HSHT referral development and coordination of transition activities
Coordinate with schools and Vocational Rehabilitation Agency to schedule HSHT transition activities for students at all HSHT sites in designated area
Plan, develop, and implement HSHT transition activities using the HSHT guidelines and assist with submitting funds requests for activities
Monitor all sites regularly and keep them updated on resources and opportunities
In partnership with schools, develop local business partners to assist with industry and post- secondary tours, and presentations to students
Provide monthly reports on activities and quarterly updates at HSHT Outreach and Program Development Coord. meetings

Minimum Requirements:

Ability to work independently and self-motivated
Ability to exercise professionalism, good judgement, and discretion
Must have a valid driver’s license and own a personal vehicle
Travel in your designated coverage area is mandatory as well as one mandatory in person meeting scheduled quarterly. Travel cost is reimbursed.

Experience:

Preferred experience in working with students with disabilities in Special Education/Teaching Profession or Vocational Rehabilitation but not required

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university AND one year of related experience OR three years of related experience

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $2000.00 - $2500.00 monthly – depending on the number of active school sites

Candidates are required to complete submit to a state background check and additional checks required for this position.
