Full Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Health Insurance Benefits Specialist to serve as the primary point of contact for our health insurance clients, helping individuals and businesses navigate their employee benefits while providing exceptional service throughout the life of their policies. From coordinating new business and renewals to processing policy changes, you'll play a key role in ensuring our clients receive accurate, timely, and personalized support.

Essential Functions:

· Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits clients, providing timely, professional, and knowledgeable service.

· Coordinate new business, annual renewals, and open enrollment activities by obtaining carrier quotes, preparing benefit comparisons and proposals, and assisting clients in selecting the coverage that best meets their needs.

· Manage policy administration, including employee enrollments, terminations, qualifying life events, policy changes, billing inquiries, and eligibility updates.

· Review policies, enrollment information, and carrier documentation for accuracy and completeness before delivery to clients.

· Maintain accurate client records and document all client and carrier communications within the agency management system.

· Communicate with insurance carriers to resolve underwriting, enrollment, billing, eligibility, and service-related issues.

· Prepare employee enrollment materials, benefit summaries, and other client communications as needed.

· Build strong working relationships with clients, insurance carriers, and internal team members to ensure an exceptional client experience.

· Maintain the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and comply with HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

· Active Health Insurance License, or the ability to obtain one within a designated timeframe.

· Previous experience in health insurance, employee benefits, insurance agency operations, or a related customer service role preferred.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to client service.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn agency management software.

· Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a collaborative team.

· A positive attitude and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Physical Demands:

· Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods

· Occasionally stand, walk, or move around the office

· Use hands and fingers for typing, writing, using office equipment

-Lift light objects up to 15 pounds

Work Environment:

All Health Insurance Benefits Specialist positions are full-time, in- office positions. Hours are 8:30-4:30 with a 1 hour lunch.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
