The SEO, AEO & GEO Specialist works to support SEO, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and AI Search Optimization (AISO) initiatives. This role focuses on building and executing programs that improve discoverability across traditional search engines and AI-driven answer platforms, while supporting business growth through organic visibility, citation performance, and actionable insights.
This role is ideal for someone with a few years of hands-on experience with SEO and are passionate about how AEO and GEO are changing the landscape. At Brawn Media, you’ll work alongside a passionate team of account managers, content creators, web developers, and digital strategists, all dedicated to helping businesses grow.
What You’ll Do
- Build and drive a strategy spanning SEO, GEO, AEO, and AISO to grow visibility across both traditional search and AI-generated search results.
- Perform comprehensive SEO & AI visibility audits and provide prioritized, actionable recommendations to improve rankings and visibility.
- Conduct keyword research to inform content direction and campaign planning.
- Optimize meta data, internal linking, site structure, and local listings.
- Develop and test link-building strategies that are creative and compliant.
- Monitor site performance and user behavior.
- Use structured, semantic, and question-driven content frameworks to boost extractability, clarity, and topical authority.
- Contribute to technical optimization work, including structured data, schema markup, internal linking, and other practices, to strengthen visibility across search and AI channels.
- Monitor and report on organic performance, AI visibility, share of voice, citation tracking, and other key metrics, translating insights into clear next steps.
- Work with internal teams, including account, content, digital and technical teams to align priorities, communicate progress, and drive execution.
- Coordinate with other SEO/GEO specialists to exchange best practices and maintain backup coverage.
- Keep a constant pulse on the fast-moving SEO and LLM landscape.
- Spot opportunities, risks, and test ideas tied to search and AI visibility, flagging issues and sharing key takeaways with team members.
- Take on special projects and additional responsibilities as needed.
Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare custom reports and insights using Google Analytics, Looker Studio, SEM RUSH, and other tools
- Interpret data from Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, ARVOW, custom internal platforms, and more
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain SEO, AEO, and GEO concepts clearly to internal teams and support client-facing communication when needed.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of hands-on SEO experience (agency experience is a big plus)
- Some knowledge of AEO/GEO (Answer Engine Optimization / Generative Engine Optimization) and how it differs from traditional SEO
- Experience with keyword research tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Keyword Planner, Search Console, etc.)
- Knowledge of GA4, certification a plus
- Familiarity with CMS platforms like WordPress and WooCommerce
- Understanding of HTML/CSS basics and how technical SEO impacts visibility
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple client accounts at once
- Organized, detail-oriented, and always curious about new trends
- Must be located in the United States
Bonus Points If You Have
- AEO/GEO coursework, certifications or similar credentials
- Hands-on experience with AEO/GEO monitoring tools and structuring content for AI citations and featured snippets
- Experience with local SEO and directory management tools (Yext, Moz Local, etc.)
