Full Job Description

PODIATRY Medical Secretary

FULL Time (36-40 hours per week) and PART Time available.

We are a multi-provider podiatry practice in the Capital Region. Office locations in Delmar, Albany, Guilderland, Latham and Niskayuna. Must be willing to travel to all offices.

The ideal candidate will have superior customer service skills, preferably specializing in Podiatry, however, will consider candidate with prior medical experience as a medical secretary. Knowledge of podiatry billing is an added benefit for consideration.

Responsibilities:

Must have the ability to multi-task.

Greet and check patients in and out for their appointments and follow-up care.

Process incoming telephone calls/messages/triages.
Schedule appointments.
Verify insurance and benefits for patients.

Handle pre authorizations and referrals both incoming and outgoing
Organize and monitor the provider's daily schedule.
Maintain timely patient flow.
Verify patient insurance coverage/demographic information at each visit.

Previous clerical experience in a medical practice preferred with strong computer skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures preferred.
Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, family members, physicians, manager, and co-workers.

The ideal candidate must be experienced, dependable, flexible, energetic, and has superior customer service skills. The individual must be able to work efficiently to solve problems when they arise or feel comfortable in communicating with others about their concerns. Maintain strictest confidentiality and discretion.

Salary dependent upon experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
