Job Title: Financial Analyst (Budgeting & Forecasting)

Location: Albany, NY (Onsite M–F during training)
Experience Level: Mid-Senior (5+ Years)
Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract (adjust as needed)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting functions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in financial modeling, corporate planning tools, and working within a manufacturing and/or R&D environment. This role requires hands-on expertise in financial systems and the ability to provide actionable insights to support strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, interpret, and implement financial planning and control concepts
Perform in-depth financial analysis to evaluate current and future performance
Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis
Gather, analyze, and summarize financial data to provide recommendations for:
Financial planning
Acquisition activities
Future requirements forecasting
Operational performance improvements
Conduct economic research and financial studies (ROI, depreciation, working capital, investment analysis)
Assess the impact of regulatory and governmental requirements on financial performance
Collaborate cross-functionally with business units to support financial goals
Prepare reports, dashboards, and executive-level presentations

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Minimum 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
Proven experience in manufacturing and/or R&D environments
Strong proficiency in Advanced Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, macros preferred)
Hands-on experience with:
SAP (Finance Module)
Oracle EPM (Enterprise Performance Management / Financial Planning tools)
Workday Financials
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (highly preferred)
Experience supporting corporate financial planning functions
Ability to work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
