Job Summary

$10,000 Sign-on Bonus
We are seeking a full-time or part-time dedicated and skilled Associate Dentist to join our growing, well-established general dental practice located in Athens, Ohio. Athens is a vibrant college town (Ohio University) offering an excellent quality of life, outdoor recreation, and affordable living. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive dental care, ensuring optimal patient outcomes while maintaining high standards of infection control and patient safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment utilizing advanced dental technology and techniques, including Open Dental. The Associate Dentist will be responsible for delivering general dentistry services with a focus on patient care, assessment, and education.

Duties

Perform a wide range of dental procedures including dental examinations, restorations, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
Conduct thorough patient assessments utilizing medical and dental terminology to diagnose oral health issues.
Utilize dental imaging and anatomy knowledge to develop effective treatment plans.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical records standards.
Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety during all procedures.
Engage in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless patient care delivery and adherence to clinical protocols.
Stay current with advancements in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, and other specialties relevant to practice needs.

Qualifications

DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
Valid dental license with eligibility to practice in the state.
Proven experience in dental office or clinic settings; experience with dental office management software such as Open Dental is preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, infection control procedures, and medical imaging techniques.
Competency in performing dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery procedures.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate treatment plans clearly.
Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
