Albany Leadership Charter School for Girls is seeking a dynamic, organized, and student-centered Part-Time Athletic Director (Stipend Posistion) to lead and grow our interscholastic athletics program. The Athletic Director will provide leadership, organization, and oversight of all athletic programs while promoting sportsmanship, academic achievement, leadership, and school pride.

ALL GIRLS 6–12 ACADEMY MODEL:
ALCS operates as a single-gender learning environment designed to support the unique academic and developmental needs of young women. This model promotes increased participation, confidence, and leadership development.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Oversee all middle and high school athletic programs.
- Coordinate schedules, transportation, officials, facilities, and game-day operations.
- Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate athletic coaches.
- Ensure compliance with NYSPHSAA, Section II, league regulations, and school policies.
- Develop and monitor athletic budgets in collaboration with school leadership.
- Coordinate athletic registrations, eligibility, physicals, and required documentation.
- Maintain communication with student-athletes, families, coaches, officials, and league representatives.
- Promote academic eligibility and positive student conduct among athletes.
- Plan and oversee athletic events, senior recognition, awards ceremonies, and seasonal celebrations.
- Collaborate with the school leadership team to expand athletic opportunities and increase student participation.
- Maintain accurate records, inventories, and required reports.
- Represent the school at league meetings and other athletic functions.
- Foster a culture of integrity, leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the athletic program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- New York State teaching or administrative certification preferred.
- Previous experience coaching or leading school athletic programs.
- Knowledge of NYSPHSAA rules, Section II regulations, and school athletics administration.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to supporting the academic and personal success of student-athletes.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and promoting educational athletics.
- Demonstrated ability to organize athletic schedules, supervise coaches, coordinate transportation, and ensure compliance with eligibility requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICAITONS:
- Experience developing athletic programs.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification, or willingness to obtain.
- NIAAA certification (CAA/RAA/CMAA), or willingness to obtain within three years.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a part-time position. The schedule is flexible but includes afternoon, evening, and occasional weekend responsibilities during athletic seasons. Attendance at home contests, selected away contests, league meetings, and school athletic events is expected.
COMPENSATION:
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
