DISTRICT MANAGER

Nothing Bundt Cakes | Capital Region, NY

Albany, Clifton Park, Saratoga Springs, North Greenbush

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, self-directed District Manager to oversee the operational and financial performance of four Nothing Bundt Cakes bakeries in the Capital Region.

Reporting directly to Ownership, the District Manager leads four Bakery General Managers and is accountable for sales growth, labor and COGS performance, operational excellence, and leadership development across the district.

The successful candidate will be a business-minded multi-unit leader who can identify issues, make sound decisions, develop strong managers, and take ownership of day-to-day bakery operations.

Key Responsibilities

Directly manage, coach, and develop four Bakery General Managers.
Visit each bakery at least weekly to review performance, coach leadership, and identify opportunities.
Own district-level performance and establish clear goals and accountability for each General Manager and bakery.
Drive revenue growth and achievement of bakery sales goals.
Monitor and manage key business metrics, including sales, labor, COGS, productivity, and profitability.
Identify performance issues early, develop action plans, and ensure follow-through without requiring routine ownership involvement.
Ensure consistent execution of Nothing Bundt Cakes operational, product, guest service, food safety, and brand standards.
Partner with bakery leadership and the marketing team to develop local sales opportunities, including community relationships, events, catering, gifting, and partnerships.
Support recruiting, retention, succession planning, and development of strong bakery leadership teams.
Promote collaboration, accountability, hospitality, and continuous improvement across all four bakeries.

What Success Looks Like

Four strong General Managers who independently operate successful bakeries.
Consistent achievement of sales, labor, COGS, and profitability goals.
Sustainable revenue growth across the district.
Consistent operational and brand standards across all locations.
Operational issues are identified and resolved proactively, allowing Ownership to focus on strategy and growth.
Strong leadership teams and a pipeline of future managers.

Qualifications

3+ years of management experience with demonstrated responsibility for business performance, including sales, labor, cost management, and team development.
Multi-unit leadership experience strongly preferred.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold managers accountable for results.
Strong business and financial acumen, including experience using KPIs and operating metrics to improve performance.
Self-directed with sound judgment and the ability to make decisions and solve problems independently.
Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in restaurant, retail, hospitality, food service, or another multi-location customer-facing business preferred.
Ability to travel regularly between all four Capital Region bakery locations.
Flexibility to occasionally work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $70,000–$75,000 per year, based on experience.

Bonus: Eligible for performance-based bonus compensation based on sales growth, labor, COGS, operational execution, and leadership performance.
