```Job Overview```
We are a 100+ year old family owned scratch bakery that moved into a new, state of the art building in September 2023. We can provide you with a secure, small business environment that is free of corporate rules and regulations. We pride ourselves on making everyone working with us part of the Albemarle Sweet Shop family.
Our schedule means no nights, you are generally finished by 3pm on Saturday, no Sundays and only a few Monday's a year. We are also closed July 4th, the long Thanksgiving weekend and we close at 2pm on Christmas Eve and don't reopen until the New Year.
The position includes tip sharing to increase your hourly pay rate each pay period, two weeks paid vacation accrued annually, paid holidays, closed for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, annual Christmas bonus, employee discount on products, paid lunch break, and uniform shirts provided.
You MUST have previous professional decorating experience to be considered for this position. To be considered you MUST be able to do the following: trim cakes, base ice cakes, borders, icing flowers including roses, write on cakes using an icing bag. Drawing and complex decorations are a plus. You will be required to submit photos of cakes you have decorated to show your abilities prior to interviewing. You will also be required to demonstrate your ability to decorate during the hiring process to include cake trimming, base icing, borders, roses and writing in a timed environment.

The successful applicant will be decorating cakes, cookies and finishing other baked goods. In addition to decorating you will be waiting on customers, taking customer orders, stocking the front of the bakery and performing other bakery related duties. You will also be working closely with our various wholesale accounts. Experience decorating cakes and strong customer service skills are required.

- Decorate cakes, cookies and other bakery products according to customer requests and specifications
- Create unique designs using various cake and cookie decorating techniques
- Ensure cakes, cookies and other bakery products are finished in a timely manner and meet quality standards
- Collaborate with co-workers to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production
- Take customer orders accurately in person and on the telephone
- Wait on customers in the lobby to fill their orders as needed
- Keep pastry display cases full of products throughout the shift
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bakery
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines
