Position Description:
The Tube Laser Operator sets up and operates a laser cutting machine to cut metal tubes according to precise specifications. They ensure quality control, maintain equipment, and follow safety procedures to ensure efficient and accurate production.
Essential Functions:
- Providing customers with the finest parts possible by operating and maintaining the tube laser-cutting machines.
- Fabricating high quality parts by setting up, loading/unloading, producing and packaging laser-cut tube steel parts.
- Cutting a wide variety of customer parts in various sizes, shapes and metal thickness
- Ensuring finished parts meet Lou-Rich standards.
- Working with a high degree of efficiency, skill, and quality to help keep customer costs reasonable.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED certificate required.
- One to two years of experience working in the actual construction of laser devices. Part of this may be part of a work-study program as long as actual working conditions are used in the training program.
- Ability to accurately read drawings and specifications.
- Ability to learn at a fast pace
- Experience operating machinery or working with metal is preferred.
Lou-Rich Training Requirements:
- Applicable training will be completed by following the syllabi (Human Resources, Safety, IFS - Timeclock, IFS - Navigation, ISO) for each new hire and that will be verified by the Employee Orientation & Job Qualification form within the first 60 days of employment.
- Applicable training will be completed by following the Assembly or Press Room Training Matrix (F4400-35 or -041). The effectiveness of assembly training guidelines will be determined by employee knowledge and demonstration of learned concepts. Additional training after the first several weeks of on-the-job training will be determined by the Supervisor in preparation to operate on their own as needed. Any follow-up training will be evaluated and provided at the 60-day review or as deemed necessary for the position.
