About the Position:
The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Office Services Specialist in our Training Division at the Driver Training Complex (DTC) located in Blackstone, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Providing clerical support to the DTC staff.
- Serving as logistics coordinator for filing and reporting of daily operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Knowledge of filing principles.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Skills:
- Skill in typing.
- Skill in data entry.
- Skill in the use of a personal computer and Microsoft Office Applications.
- Skill in customer service.
- Skill in design and production of training aids using various resources.
Abilities:
- Ability to prepare correspondence, reports, and memoranda.
- Ability to review, enter, and track basic expenditure and procurement transactions.
- Ability to organize work and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain accurate and complete documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.
- Ability to work independently and a part of a team.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to interact professionally with all personnel and staff contacted during work.
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Additional Considerations
- Experience performing a variety of administrative or clerical tasks preferred.
- Experience working in an office within a law enforcement environment preferred.
