What You’ll Do
Provide in-home care for dogs, cats, and small animals
Take dogs on 30-minute to 1-hour walks
Refresh water, feed meals, and administer basic medications when needed
Provide companionship and enrichment so pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved
Send clients updates and photos during services
Provide light home care such as bringing in mail or watering plants
Optional overnight pet sitting for additional income
Help take photos and short videos for Paws In Action social media when appropriate
Assist with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, flyers, promotions, and local community outreach
Help us come up with creative ideas to promote our dog walking, pet sitting, and overnight services
Communication Is Extremely Important
Because you will often be working independently inside our clients’ homes, communication and reliability are essential.
We are looking for someone who:
Responds to work-related communication in a timely manner
Reviews their schedule carefully and manages travel time between clients
Communicates directly with management if there is ever a scheduling issue, concern, or question
Follows client care instructions and established Paws In Action procedures
Provides professional and friendly updates to clients
Is comfortable receiving feedback and working as part of a team
Who We’re Looking For
Reliable and responsible our clients trust us with their pets and their homes
Committed for at least one year we invest time in our team and would like someone who wants to grow with us
Comfortable handling animals experience is helpful, but patience, good judgment, and genuine care are extremely important
Physically capable of walking and handling dogs of different sizes
Organized and able to manage an independent daily schedule
Tech-savvy and comfortable using a smartphone for schedules, photos, updates, and communication
Creative or interested in social media and marketing
Able to work independently while still communicating well with the Paws In Action team
Owns reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and insured vehicle
Available for some weekends and holidays, which are some of our busiest times
Compensation
$13–$15 per pet visit or dog walk
$45–$50 per overnight pet sit
Keep 100% of your tips
Additional compensation may be available for marketing and administrative responsibilities based on experience and responsibilities
Flexible schedule based on availability and client needs
Important Note
This opportunity is structured as an independent contractor position. Contractors are responsible for managing their own taxes, availability, and work commitments.
