X-Ray Associates of New Mexico has been a leader in diagnostic imaging for more than 70 years. We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology & Interventional Radiology Coding Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle team.
This position is ideal for a coding professional who enjoys the complexity of diagnostic imaging, vascular procedures, and interventional radiology while maintaining the highest standards of coding accuracy and compliance.

Position Responsibilities
Independently review and assign accurate CPT®, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS Level II, and modifier coding for:
- Diagnostic Radiology
- CT
- MRI
- Ultrasound
- Mammography
- Nuclear Medicine
- PET
- Fluoroscopy
- Vascular & Interventional Radiology
Review physician documentation for coding accuracy and completeness
Identify coding opportunities while ensuring compliance with Medicare, commercial payer, and regulatory guidelines
Research complex coding scenarios using CPT Assistant, ACR guidance, CMS publications, and other coding resources
Assist with coding edits, denials, and documentation clarification
Collaborate with physicians, compliance, and billing teams to improve coding accuracy and reimbursement
Maintain productivity while consistently achieving high coding quality standards
Stay current on annual CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, NCCI, and payer guideline updates
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of professional Radiology coding experience
Extensive knowledge of Diagnostic Radiology coding
Strong experience with Advanced Imaging
Experience coding Vascular & Interventional Radiology procedures
Strong understanding of:
- CPT
- ICD-10-CM
- HCPCS
- NCCI Edits
- Medicare Regulations
- Commercial Payer Policies
Experience reviewing operative reports and complex physician documentation
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and commitment to coding compliance
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Certifications
One or more of the following certifications preferred:
- RCCIR
- CIRCC
- RCC
- CPC
- CCS-P
- RHIT
- RHIA
Equivalent radiology coding certifications will also be considered.
