Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic, organized, and reliable individual to join the team at Rock 101 Music Academy as a Studio Assistant. This role is essential to keeping the school running smoothly through strong communication, scheduling support, onboarding assistance, and day-to-day operational help.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes responsibility seriously, communicates clearly, and enjoys working in a creative, fast-paced environment. While this is a small part-time role, it is a highly important support position for staff, students, and families.

This role includes being available for communication during daytime hours (starting at 9am), responding to messages and calls as needed, helping with projects at the studio a few times per week, and assisting with occasional events.

ResponsibilitiesScheduling & Operations Support

Assist with managing and maintaining the studio calendar system
Provide scheduling backup for classes, rehearsals, and instructor availability
Help manage time-off requests and schedule adjustments
Support onboarding of new students, families, and staff
Assist with general staff coordination and day-to-day operational flow
Perform daily LessonMate checks and updates (attendance, notes, or system updates)

Customer Service & Front Desk Support

Act as a first point of contact for incoming calls, texts, and messages
Provide friendly, clear, and professional communication to students, parents, and staff
Answer questions, resolve issues, and escalate concerns when needed
Maintain a high level of hospitality and professionalism in all interactions

Systems & Platform Support

Maintain accuracy within scheduling systems, including Opus1.io
Provide basic support and troubleshooting for staff using scheduling systems
Help ensure consistency and organization across platforms

Studio Support & Miscellaneous

Help set up rental instruments and ensure studio readiness
Support general studio organization and flow as needed
Assist with occasional events or special programming
Be present, helpful, and proactive in keeping operations running smoothly

Requirements

Previous experience in scheduling, administration, or customer service preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organization and time-management abilities
Ability to multitask and stay detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable learning and using scheduling/software systems
Reliable, self-motivated, and willing to take ownership of responsibilities
Computer skills

Schedule

Part-time: 5–10 hours per week
Afternoon availability preferred
Monday–Friday sometimes weekends
Must have daytime availability starting at 9am for messages/calls
Must have evening availability - sometimes until 8pm
In-person role with occasional flexible studio visits as needed
