Why does the job exist?

The Senior Healthcare Surveyor / Complaints Advanced Intake Coordinator will:

Lead the transition and integration of the Children's Licensing and Certification Authority (CLCA) intake function into the team, ensuring that all CLCA-related submissions, reviews, and assignments are processed accurately, timely and in accordance with state requirements;

Develop procedures, train staff on new CLCA workflows, and monitor quality and consistency across all intake activities;

Support daily intake operations by performing complex intake reviews, triaging high-priority cases, and assisting staff;

Function as the intake lead for the CLCA integration, provide guidance, troubleshoot system or process issues, and serve as the liaison between intake staff, supervisors, and program leadership;

Ensure continuity of operations, maintain performance standards, and support the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Complaints team.

How does it get done?

The Senior Healthcare Surveyor / Complaints Advanced Intake Coordinator is responsible for:

Leading the transition and ongoing management or the Children's Licensing and Certification Authority (CLCA) intake function, including reviewing submissions, ensuring compliance, developing procedures, and serving as the subject-matter expert;

Assisting with Health Facility Licensing and Certification (HFLC) daily workload by reviewing complex or high-priority cases, triaging incoming items, and ensuring timely processing across the team;

Conducting follow-up calls for overdue documentation, reviewing and maintaining shared tracking tools (e.g., Google Docs), verifying data accuracy, and assisting with closing out completed intakes to ensure records are complete and compliant.

Residents and patients in licensed healthcare facilities across New Mexico, ensuring their complaints and reportable incidents are properly received, triaged, and reviewed so the agency can protect them from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and other harm.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Architecture, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Rehabilitation, and /or Criminal Justice and two (2) years directly related experience in community based healthcare services and case management. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in the office setting with exposure to visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive computer and telephone usage. This position may require some in-state and out-of-state travel for training.
