Full Job Description

Job Overview:
As a Billing Specialist, you will be a key player in ensuring that our billing processes run smoothly and that our clients have a clear understanding of their benefits and financial responsibilities. You will manage insurance verification, monitor accounts receivable, collect past-due balances, and maintain accurate client records in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both administration and clinicians.

Key Responsibilities:

Insurance & Benefits Management:
Contact clients to verify benefits and eligibility.
Update and manage insurance information in the EHR system.
Work closely with clients to explain their coverage and clarify any billing concerns.
Claims Processing & Management:
Submit claims to insurance providers and ensure timely follow-up.
Track and manage unpaid or denied claims, resubmitting when necessary.
Address insurance inquiries and discrepancies.
Accounts Receivable (A/R):
Monitor and manage A/R accounts, following up on outstanding balances.
Contact clients to collect past-due balances in a professional and courteous manner.
Set up payment plans as necessary and track payments.
Eligibility Verification:
Conduct benefit checks and verify client eligibility for services.
Ensure proper documentation is maintained for all insurance claims and client records.
EHR & Chart Management:
Update the EHR system with insurance details, chart notes, and client billing information.
Work collaboratively with the clinical team to ensure accuracy and completion of necessary chart documentation.
Collaboration & Communication:
Partner with administrative staff and clinicians to streamline billing processes.
Provide regular reports on billing status and A/R metrics to the management team.
Other Responsibilities:
Stay up-to-date with changes in insurance policies and regulations.
Assist with month-end closing procedures related to billing.
Perform additional duties as required to support the financial health of the practice.

Qualifications:

Billing department management experience
Previous experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or related fields preferred.
Strong understanding of insurance benefits, eligibility, and claims processes.
Proficient in using EHR systems and managing client records.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive client interactions with professionalism.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a team environment.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
