Full Job Description

Job Title: Call Center Specialist

Job Summary

As the outward-facing representative of a busy behavioral health clinic, the Call Center Specialist plays a critical role in welcoming and assisting patients, answering incoming calls, collecting co-payments, and scheduling appointments while delivering high-quality customer service. This position also serves as a backup to Intake Administrative Staff as needed (e.g., during breaks, lunches, vacations, or call-ins).

Duties and Responsibilities

Integrate as an active member of the Access/Front Desk team.
Support overall team goals and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
Learn and navigate systems relevant to call center and reception duties.
Verify insurance coverage and collect the correct copayments from patients.
Receive, copy, scan, and fax documents as needed.
Perform 48-hour appointment confirmation calls.
Provide exemplary customer service while collaborating with administrative staff in a high-volume call center environment.
Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, therapists, coordinators, social workers, and other professionals.
Actively participate in team meetings and process improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively and professionally.
Skilled at addressing patient questions related to scheduling/appointments and directing other inquiries to the appropriate department.
Articulate and courteous verbal communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
Ability to multi-task efficiently and maintain excellent organizational skills.
Basic computer navigation and data entry skills.
General knowledge of office and administrative procedures.
Self-motivated, reliable, adaptable, and a team player with a high degree of integrity.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Up to one year of prior office, reception, or customer-service related work experience preferred (healthcare experience a plus).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
