Position Summary

The Tax Associate is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Albuquerque, NM. This position is ideal for early‑career professionals who are ready to begin building their tax expertise while working directly with small‑business and middle‑market clients.

You will receive hands‑on training, direct mentorship, and exposure to a wide range of tax engagements while developing the technical and professional skills needed to advance toward a Senior Associate role.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with preparing federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S‑corporations, and C‑corporations.
Support senior team members with tax research, documentation, and responses to IRS or state inquiries.
Work with engagement teams to gather client information, organize workpapers, and ensure accurate and timely filings.
Participate in special projects involving entity structure, accounting methods, and tax planning strategies.
Communicate with clients to request information, clarify questions, and provide updates.
Learn firm processes, tax software, and workflow systems to build efficiency and technical capability.
Contribute to a positive team culture through collaboration, communication, and support of peers.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
CPA‑eligible (required)
Internship or limited experience in tax or accounting preferred, but not required
Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite

Preferred Qualifications

Prior internship or part‑time experience in a public accounting firm
Familiarity with tax preparation software
Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
