Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join our growing team.

Case Management: Support your assigned attorney throughout the entire case lifecycle, from intake through settlement or trial, ensuring cases remain organized, accurate, and moving forward efficiently under attorney supervision.
Client Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for clients by providing regular case updates, answering questions, and delivering a compassionate and professional client experience.
Claims & Insurance Coordination: Initiate insurance claims, verify coverage, maintain communication with insurance adjusters, and provide timely case status updates throughout the life of each claim.
Document Preparation: Prepare legal correspondence and case documents, including letters of representation, demand letters, billing inquiries, routine pleadings, motions, affidavits, interrogatories, and other legal documentation in accordance with judicial procedures.
Case Investigation & File Management: Gather intake information, collect medical records, bills, wage loss documentation, and other supporting evidence while maintaining complete, organized case files within the firm's case management system.
Litigation Support: Assist attorneys with discovery, trial preparation, hearings, and other litigation activities by organizing case materials, coordinating deadlines, filing pleadings, and attending trials or hearings when needed.
Calendar & Administrative Support: Maintain attorney calendars, coordinate meetings with clients and other professionals, manage deadlines, and provide additional administrative support to ensure efficient case progression.
Technology Utilization: Utilize case management software to maintain accurate case information, document activity, and support efficient workflow throughout every stage of the case.
Experience: Brings experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, preferably in personal injury or a high-volume legal environment. Paralegal certification is a plus.
Legal Knowledge: Demonstrates knowledge of legal procedures, including familiarity with federal court processes and terminology. Experience drafting discovery is preferred.
Organization & Time Management: Excels at managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, organization, and strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Communication Skills: Communicates professionally and effectively with attorneys, clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, courts, and other stakeholders while providing exceptional client service.
Problem-Solving: Takes initiative, exercises sound judgment, and approaches challenges with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using case management software and other legal technology to maintain case files, organize documentation, and improve efficiency.
Teamwork & Professionalism: Brings a collaborative attitude, personal credibility, and a commitment to supporting attorneys, teammates, and clients while contributing to a positive office culture.
On-Site Commitment: Able to work in-office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
