We collaborate with artists, architects, interior designers, developers, fabricators, and other industry partners to develop and curate art programs and artwork collections across hospitality, multifamily, corporate office, healthcare, life sciences, and public art.
Our projects range from curated paintings, photography, and works on paper to custom commissions, sculpture, dimensional artwork, and site-specific installations. We manage projects from initial concept and artwork selection through budgeting, procurement, fabrication, framing, delivery, and final installation.
Our work considers how artwork relates to the surrounding architecture, interior design, scale, and overall environment while balancing each client's vision, budget, schedule, and project requirements.
About the Position
Artists Circle Fine Art is seeking a part-time Associate Art Consultant / Project Manager to join our team, with the potential to transition into a full-time Project Manager position.
We are open to candidates with relevant project management or art consulting experience, as well as candidates with a strong fine art or design background who are ready to develop their art consulting and project management experience while working toward independently managing client projects.
This position combines art consulting, curation, client relationship management, and project management, with responsibility for helping projects move efficiently from concept through installation.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage multiple client art projects of varying size and scope from initial concept through final installation, overseeing project budgets, schedules, timelines, deliverables, and vendor cost analysis to ensure projects remain on budget, on schedule, and aligned with client requirements.
- Attend and conduct client meetings, site visits, artist studio visits, and installations as required, including site visits for layout design planning within interior spaces and exhibitions.
- Coordinate with clients, artists, designers, architects, fabricators, installers, logistics partners, and internal team members, communicating promptly and professionally, with a strong sense of urgency to ensure active project communications and outstanding items are addressed daily.
- Review architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, and design documents to determine artwork placement and installation requirements.
- Research, source, and identify artists and artwork for each project based on the client's aesthetic, budget, schedule, and project requirements; work directly with artists to develop concepts, custom commissions, and proposals when appropriate.
- Curate artwork proposals that meet each client's aesthetic, budget, schedule, and site requirements, often within tight turnaround times.
- Prepare and present client artwork proposals, presentations, room mockups, budgets, and related project materials.
- Advise clients, including developers, architects, interior designers, and corporate clients, on artwork selections, sizes, locations, materials, and other artwork specifications.
- Coordinate with artists and vendors to obtain pricing, images, dimensions, specifications, lead times, and other required project information, including negotiating pricing, contracts, and production requirements as appropriate.
- Coordinate artwork production and logistics, including custom commissions, framing, fabrication, signage, transportation, receiving, storage, delivery, and installation.
- Coordinate and work closely with ACFA's installation team through project completion.
- Oversee artwork quality control to ensure completed works meet approved client specifications, including reviewing artwork during production and conducting artist studio visits when necessary
- Manage and maintain artwork inventory for assigned projects, including artwork details, locations, status, and project records.
- Develop and maintain strong client, artist, and vendor relationships and support new business opportunities.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fine Art, Art History, Interior Design, Architecture, Graphic Design, Arts Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of project management experience in art consulting, interior design, FF&E, architecture, or a related creative/design field preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Familiarity with a broad range of graphic design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft PowerPoint; as well as experience using workplace communication platforms including Slack, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience with Artlogic (including ArtBase) or similar art inventory and collection management software is a plus.
- Familiarity with architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, construction details, and design terminology preferred.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, vendors, and deliverables.

- Professional demeanor and ability to represent Artists Circle Fine Art appropriately in client-facing environments.
- Ability and willingness to travel to client sites, artist studios, installations, and other project locations throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia as required.
Position Details
Position: Part-Time, with potential to transition to Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Wednesday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
Work Location: In-person, with travel to client sites, artist studios, and project locations as needed
Compensation: $22–$30 per hour, commensurate with experience
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
