Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are a premier, modern dental practice located in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C., looking for a skilled, detail-oriented In-House Dental Laboratory Technician. This role is central to our commitment to providing top-tier, efficient patient care.

Because we are a high-volume, tech-forward downtown practice, we utilize state-of-the-art CAD/CAM and 3D printing workflows. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and modern digital dentistry. You will create and fabricate restorations for patients, as well as work directly alongside our clinical team to provide same day repairs and support.

Job Responsibilities1. Fabrication & Production

Fabricate high-quality dental prosthetics including crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays/onlays, implants, and removable partials/dentures.
Utilize CAD/CAM software (e.g., exocad, 3Shape) to design restorations accurately.
Operate and maintain in-office milling machines and 3D printers.
Perform traditional lab duties when necessary, including pouring models, articulating, contouring, staining, glazing, and polishing restorations.

2. Clinical Collaboration

Work chairside with dentists to conduct custom shade matching and characterization for patients.
Consult with the clinical team on complex case designs, material selection, and treatment planning.
Provide rapid-turnaround chairside adjustments and repairs to minimize patient wait times.

3. Lab Management & Compliance

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment in strict compliance with OSHA, CDC, and infection control guidelines.
Manage laboratory inventory, ordering materials and blocks/resins as needed while staying within budget.
Track and manage the lab schedule to ensure all cases are completed on time for scheduled patient appointments.

Requirements & Qualifications Minimum Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a dental laboratory technician is a plus (in-house experience is a major plus).
Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD/CAM digital design software and digital manufacturing workflows (milling and 3D printing).
Artistic Ability: Exceptional eye for color, shape, and facial symmetry to create natural-looking aesthetics.
Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work under tight timelines in a fast-paced downtown environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification: Certified Dental Technician (CDT) designation is highly preferred.
Education: Associate degree in Dental Laboratory Technology or equivalent formal technical training.
Experience with multi-unit implant cases, all-on-x restorations, or advanced porcelain staining.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
