HIRING IMMEDIATELY

Sunstates Security is hiring Full-Time Unarmed Security Officers in the Washington, D.C. area. Various days and shifts are available! These positions offer a pay rate of $32.88/hr with weekly pay.

Job Requirements

Position Overview

Sunstates Security is seeking professional Special Police Officers (SPOs) to support a prominent non-profit organization's headquarters in Washington, D.C. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic 24/7 security environment while performing patrol operations, Security Operations Center (SOC) monitoring, access control, alarm response, and incident management. Candidates who thrive in professional environments and possess strong situational awareness, customer service, and decision-making skills are encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities

Security Professionals will be expected to:

Provide professional security support at a 24/7 corporate headquarters environment in Washington, D.C.
Monitor security systems, alarms, CCTV cameras, and access control platforms from the Security Operations Center (SOC).
Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols to ensure the safety and security of personnel, visitors, and property.
Respond to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and security concerns in accordance with established procedures and escalation protocols.
Monitor employee, visitor, contractor, and vendor access while ensuring compliance with site security procedures.
Assist with visitor management, badge issuance, access credential verification, and other security-related administrative functions.
Conduct investigations and document security events, unusual activity, and incidents impacting personnel, facilities, or operations.
Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, pass-down logs, and other required documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
Coordinate with client management, emergency responders, and Sunstates leadership during incidents and emergencies.
Support emergency response efforts, business continuity initiatives, and after-hours security operations.
Maintain a professional presence while delivering exceptional customer service to employees, members, guests, and visitors.

Minimum Requirements

Must be able to work in Washington, D.C.
Active Washington, D.C. Special Police Officer (SPO) Commission required, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be proficient with computers and comfortable working with security technology platforms, including access control, CCTV, alarm monitoring, and incident management systems.
Must be capable of multitasking and making sound decisions in a fast-paced professional environment.
Must be reliable, punctual, and maintain a professional demeanor.
Must be able to work days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and company-observed holidays as assigned.
Prior experience in corporate security, Security Operations Centers (SOC), dispatch, emergency communications, military, law enforcement, or customer service preferred.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience working in corporate security, Security Operations Centers (SOC), command centers, or professional office environments.
Knowledge of access control systems, CCTV platforms, alarm monitoring, and incident response procedures.
Strong situational awareness and the ability to assess and prioritize multiple events simultaneously.
Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
Professional communication and customer service abilities.
Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies and critical incidents.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to security best practices.
Experience performing both patrol operations and SOC monitoring responsibilities.
Flexibility to support additional shifts and operational needs when required.
Reliable transportation to Washington, D.C.

Schedule / Coverage Needs

We are currently seeking candidates with availability for:

Monday-Friday 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (40 HPW)
Company-Observed Holiday Coverage
Candidates with flexible availability who are comfortable supporting both patrol operations and Security Operations Center (SOC) responsibilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
