Full Job Description

Sterling Landscape Services is seeking an experienced, organized, and motivated Maintenance Supervisor to lead our Property Maintenance Division.

This position is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, leading maintenance crew members, maintaining quality standards, coordinating client services, and ensuring scheduled work is completed safely, efficiently, and professionally.

The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with Ownership to execute maintenance schedules, priorities, and service plans. Ownership establishes client schedules, service expectations, labor allocations, and departmental goals, while the Supervisor is responsible for leading the team, coordinating field operations, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring work is completed according to company expectations.

The Supervisor will participate in regular daily and weekly planning meetings with Ownership to review schedules, staffing needs, weather impacts, client requests, service priorities, and operational changes. This collaborative approach helps ensure efficient scheduling, clear communication, and exceptional service throughout all areas we serve.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise maintenance crew members
Coordinate daily field operations and workflow
Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule
Communicate professionally with clients and team members
Maintain quality standards across all properties
Train, mentor, and hold team members accountable
Monitor and maintain company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment
Follow company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations
Identify and communicate property needs, concerns, and opportunities for improvement
Assist with planning, organization, and execution of maintenance services

Services Include

Planting and landscape enhancements
Pruning and ornamental tree care
Weeding and debris removal
Tree and shrub fertilization
Weed control applications
Lawn repair and re-seeding
Pond start-ups, maintenance, and winterization
Irrigation maintenance and repairs
Spring start-ups and seasonal services
Monthly property maintenance programs
Fall cleanups and seasonal shutdowns
Deer repellent applications
Winter spraying and rodent deterrent services
General landscape and property maintenance

Qualifications

Previous landscape, property maintenance, or related industry experience
Leadership or supervisory experience
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to effectively lead a team and manage priorities
Professional and customer-focused attitude
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to safely operate landscape equipment, machinery, trucks, and trailers
Dependable, accountable, and detail-oriented

Physical & Environmental Requirements

This is a working supervisory position requiring active participation in field operations when needed.

Candidates must be able to:

Work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, wind, and humidity
Stand and walk for extended periods
Frequently bend, kneel, lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment
Safely operate landscape equipment and machinery
Work extended hours, seasonal overtime, and occasional weekends as business demands require
