Full Job Description

We are a leading manufacturer and distributor of petroleum products, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA. In support of our ongoing business growth, we are seeking a Safety Compliance Coordinator.

Position Summary

The Safety & Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the company's operations comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing the distribution, transportation, storage, and handling of petroleum products, lubricants, chemicals, and hazardous materials. This position develops, implements, and monitors environmental, health, safety, transportation, and quality compliance programs while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

The Safety & Compliance Coordinator works closely with operations, sales, warehouse personnel, drivers, management, customers, and regulatory agencies to maintain compliance and minimize operational risk.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Compliance

·Ensure company compliance with OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, EPA, DEP, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

·Maintain accurate Equipment on Loan (EOL) asset records, including tracking equipment assignments, processing work orders, and ensuring compliance with company labeling requirements.

·Coordinate tank label requests and maintain accurate records to ensure proper identification, traceability, and regulatory compliance.

· Obtain and manage certificates of insurance.

· Conduct Queries using the FMCSA Clearinghouse.

· Conduct other duties and safety operation functions as assigned.

·Monitor regulatory changes and recommend updates to company policies, procedures, and operational practices.

·Accurately document and maintain tank monitor records to track field asset location, status and usage.

·Coordinate regulatory inspections and audits while maintaining all required permits, licenses, and compliance records.

·Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and investigations.

Quality & Operational Compliance

Support quality assurance initiatives related to product handling, storage, labeling, retain sampling, and inventory control.

Conduct internal audits to verify compliance with company procedures and customer requirements.

Assist with continuous improvement projects designed to increase efficiency, reduce risk, and improve operational performance.

Documentation & Reporting

· Maintain accurate compliance records, inspection reports, audit findings, training records, and regulatory documentation.

· Develop compliance reports, performance metrics, and management summaries.

· Manage the company's Safety Data Sheet (SDS) library and chemical inventory records.

· Ensure required documentation is complete, accurate, and readily available during inspections and audits.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Must possess strong technical writing skills.

· Must possess strong communication skills with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret regulations and other documents

· Must be able to speak in front of groups to conduct safety training

· Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of OSHA, EPA, DEP, FMCSA, DOT, IFTA regulations, and electronic driver logs.

· OSHA Reporting.

· Experience with TPS Alert, ISNet World, Veriforce, HandS System and Workers’ Compensation.

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

· Experience with ERP systems preferred.

· Excellent attention to detail.

· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent organizational skills.

· Ability to work in office, warehouse, garage and outdoor environments.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Science or Environmental Health & Safety

· 1-3 years’ experience in safety management preferred

· Demonstrated leadership in safety industry

· Current OSHA 500 certification

· SafeLandUSA Certification

· Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications

· Demonstrated knowledge of FMCSA / DOT regulations
