Full Job Description

We are a growing independent court transcription service seeking detail-oriented, experienced Remote 1099 Legal Transcribers / Editors to join our team.

Unlike traditional "from-scratch" typing roles, we provide our team with 75%-90% accurate, pre-transcribed rough text drafts generated via our secure, local AI pipeline. Your primary responsibility will be to listen to the audio stream and polish the text into an official, certified, court-ready record. This model significantly reduces manual typing time, allowing you to turn around pages faster and maximize your earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

Listen to court proceedings via our secure, streaming-only portal (compatible with standard USB foot pedals).

Proofread pre-transcribed rough drafts line-by-line against the audio to ensure 100% verbatim accuracy.

Accurately identify and format speaker tags (Judge, Attorneys, Witnesses).

Research and correct spellings of complex legal terminology, case citations, and medical jargon.

Apply strict formatting standards, page layouts, margins, and line-numbering guidelines required by the court.

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum 1–2 years of verified legal, court, or deposition transcription experience.

Airtight Commitment to Data Security: Must agree to process all work strictly inside our secure cloud environment. Downloading audio or utilizing external cloud-based AI/transcription tools is strictly prohibited.

Familiarity with standard legal formatting and court transcription templates.

Reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a compatible USB foot pedal system (such as Infinity) utilizing streaming-compatible software (e.g., FTW Transcriber or browser extensions).

AAERT (CET) certification or listing on an official court transcriptioni roster is a major plus.

Pay: $1.75/page

Pay: $24.42 - $29.40 per hour
