Full Job Description

MR.LAW represents individuals and families in serious injury and civil rights matters, including negligent security and third-party crime litigation, police brutality claims, medical malpractice, dram shop liability, premises liability, motor vehicle collisions, and catastrophic injury cases. We are seeking an experienced Pre-Litigation Paralegal to join our fast-paced, plaintiff-side practice.

As Case Manager/Pre-Litigation Paralegal, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for clients from intake through settlement, managing a volume caseload with compassion and precision. This is a critical role — you keep cases moving, clients informed, and attorneys prepared. Candidates must be dependable, self-motivated, and capable of multi-tasking, with excellent organizational, written, and verbal skills and a strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate is a team player who can support multiple attorneys at once and manage competing case deadlines to meet client needs.

Responsibilities:

Client Relations & Case Ownership

Manage a caseload of pre-litigation personal injury cases from open to settlement

Medical & Records Coordination

Order and review accident reports, prior medical records, and billing
Follow up with medical providers to ensure complete, timely documentation of treatment
Monitor client treatment progress and coordinate appointments with providers as needed
Send letters of representation and open claims with insurance companies and health insurers, including Medicare/Medicaid correspondence for new clients
Submit and track open-records requests for all hired cases; manage records portals and route status updates to the appropriate case handler

Case Preparation & Negotiation

Draft demand letters (liability, PIP, and UIM) and other pre-litigation correspondence, supported by comprehensive documentation
Negotiate with insurance adjusters on property damage and injury claims, and lead settlement negotiations through to resolution
Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts for interviews and case-building
Work with attorneys to evaluate liability and damages and develop case strategy

Case Administration

Track deadlines, statutes of limitations, and outstanding tasks using the case calendar to ensure nothing falls through the cracks
Document all case activity and communications accurately in FileVine
Manage document review and maintain organized case files
Support a cooperative team dynamic with attorneys and other case staff
Serve as the primary client contact, providing regular updates and maintaining strong relationships throughout the case
Advocate for clients' rights and interests, and ensure they receive all necessary medical care and treatment

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies or Paralegal Certificate

Excellent communication and Organization skills

Ability to think critically and analyze information

Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and function at a high level in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work with a team and have an upbeat, positive, and proactive attitude

Most importantly the eagerness to learn and grow with our firm

Compensation based on experience
