Summary
As a medical scribe, the individual are responsible for ensuring the well-being of patients and for providing a positive, supportive environment for patients and other staff while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, front office and clinical staff.
Job Duties
-
Document patient medical history and physical exam.
- Document procedures and treatments performed by providers.
- Prepare office notes/template for upcoming appointments.
- Submits electronic prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by providers.
- Transcribe patient orders including laboratory test, radiology test, medications, etc.
- Transcribes any consultations or discussions with family members and/or the clinician.
- Performs clerical duties and tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications-
High School Diploma/GED to include heath sciences classes (Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, etc.)
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- CMSS - Certified Medical Scribe Specialist - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days
Preferred Qualifications-
Technical School Diploma Medical Assistant or
- EMT
Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
